The 2007 event is now history and we are planning for 2008. The 2008 event will be hosted by the Toronto Police Service and the site location is the North Campus of Humber College in Toronto, Ontario. The G.L.P.M.T.S. website may reflect some 2007 content however it is being updated regularly as details are finalized, so check back often for updates.
Testimonials Some feedback on the 2006 G.L.P.M.T.S.: "I really enjoyed the seminar. This was my first time and my riding really increased. I have never ridden this well." "Talk about phenominal stuff! Exceptional job!" "My first time here and I learned a ton. Fabulous!" "Overall very well organized. It has gotten better each year." "I found it truly amazing how much the more experienced riders were willing to help instruct the less experienced riders and still maintain that competitive edge. It makes me appreciate the law enforcement family I belong to all that much more. "I really enjoyed myself. I would love to do it again next year."
Statement of Principles It is the intention of the training seminar to: 1) Establish and promote safe motorcycle riding skills within the police community. 2) Promote awareness of the police motorcycle officer in the public arena as a safe, responsible motorcycle officer. 3) Establish a cohesive fraternity and encourage kinship in the law enforcement motoring community. 4) Support local and regional charities affiliated with the police community.
Organization The organizing committee of the Great Lakes Police Motorcycle Training Seminar is made up of volunteers from various Southern Ontario police services including Toronto, Peel Regional, Waterloo Regional, Durham Regional, York Regional, Chatham-Kent, Ottawa, Windsor, London, R.C.M.P. and the Ontario Provincial Police. In addition to this, the Blue Knights and the Ontario Police College are represented on the committee.
